Improved Reduction in Biological Growth
Temecula, California, March 12, 1999 - Cadent Technologies, today announced a new UV Water Sterilization Controller intended for all types of water processing and delivery systems, including industrial filtration, commercial/residential RO and water vending machines. Named the UV Optimizer, our unique product addresses common problems found in water filtration and simple UV lamp sterilization systems.
The UV Optimizer helps reduce biological growth by utilizing a sophisticated circuit to control a UV lamp and special diverter valve. The precise electronic and timing circuits insures the UV lamp is given adequate time to strike and reach proper operating efficiency before processing or dispensing water. During this startup time, water is diverted via the special valve to flush the water from the "dead zone" of the plumbing system. Once the system is flushed, and the lamp is operating, it terminates the flush cycle and begins the dispensing of water.
To help reduce re-establishment of biological growth, our new UV Optimizer system will automatically flush the plumbing and control the growth (by using the UV lamp) every two hours (or a user defined time period) - even if no dispensing or water processing is being done. This helps limit the growth in the pumping during long duration of non operation or intermittent use.
Most UV lamps have a limited effective life expectancy, so we have an optional fault detector available. It uses a light sensor to monitor the UV lamp and prevent dispensing water if the lamp is not illuminated. An optional remote fault light or audible alarm is available to indicate the fault condition to the end user. It can also be used to lock out operation of the coin mechanism in water vending machines.
Our controller can be retro fitted into existing systems or designed into new ones. The UV Optimizer operates from 18-24 VAC or 12-24 VDC. Transformers are available to allow operation at higher voltages. The controller can directly drive 2 amp loads, relays are available to drive larger loads. Prices start at $24.95 for the optimizer.
